António Costa e Silva

António Costa e Silva, is a professor at IST (Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa) with aggregation in Planning and Integrated Management of Energy Resources. He has a degree in Mining Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, a Master’s in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College (University of London) and a PhD from Instituto Superior Técnico and Imperial College, defending a thesis on “The Development of Applied Stochastic Models to Petroleum Reservoirs”. He is the current Chairman of the Board of PARTEX OIL AND GAS Group. From 2001 to 2003 he worked at the French Petroleum Institute (IFP) in Paris, in its business branch (BEICIP-FRANLAB), as Director of Reservoir Engineering and Head of Operations. He was responsible and coordinator of the technical teams that executed projects in some of the biggest oil and gas fields in the world. He was a guest speaker in numerous international and national conferences. In 2020 he was invited by the Portuguese Prime Minister to prepare the Strategic Vision for Portugal's Recovery Plan 2020-2030.
