David Balsar

David Balsar is the General Manager of innovation and ventures at Mekorot National Water Company. He joined Mekorot five years ago to implement the government resolution and lead the company's investments and R&D efforts in water and wastewater technologies. Balsar has been managing the company's investment strategy and execution. Screening hundreds of startups from which Mekorot has invested in 9 companies and piloted many more technologies at different stages across, water, wastewater, energy, climate and more. A former professional athlete and a lawyer with international experience working at both corporations (two London-based media companies) and startups (founding and managing two ventures), David has four academic degrees, including an MBA from INSEAD and a Master’s in Philosophy. He has a multidisciplinary background and well-rounded business skills that include management, sales, marketing, strategy, business development partnerships.
