Born in 1967 and raised on one of the first organic farms in Switzerland, Daniel Bärtschi has dealt with questions relating to agriculture, food production and sustainability since childhood. His heart beats for nature and a better world. He completed an apprenticeship as a farmer and studied at the Swiss University of Agriculture. He then worked as an agricultural consultant in Switzerland and internationally. He later completed a master’s degree in organizational leadership at Eastern University (USA). After further professional positions as Programs Director in international development cooperation, Managing Director of Bio Suisse and director of a nature museum, he is since 2021 Global Expert, Land&Agriculture at Quantis, a sustainability consulting company, part of BCG Group. He is a pioneer and trailblazer in regenerative agriculture in Switzerland and beyond, and advises companies, farms, and organizations on how they can better work in harmony with nature. His vision is a world in which regenerative agriculture produces healthy food, and thanks to the combination of traditional knowledge with modern technology, nature can flourish again. In 2019 he founded the association Agricultura Regeneratio, which promotes regenerative agriculture and food production and offers a brand for regenerative farms and products, and helps to monitor outcomes for soil and climate. The association is independent and non-profit and unites members from the entire food value chain. He lives with his family in Basel, Switzerland.
